Current Focus and Results
Kim joined Collaborative Strategies in 1997 and offers her clients a broad background of financial and strategic expertise. She has been engaged in more than 50 strategic planning efforts in a variety of industries including construction, banking, manufacturing, non-for-profit, professional services and real estate. In addition to strategic planning, Kim utilizes her financial background to help clients understand their current and future financial situation more thoroughly and assist them in using this information to improve their strategic plan for the future. This work may take the form of budgeting, financial modeling, forecasting, etc.
Experience
Kim served clients of Arthur Andersen & Co. as a member of its audit department for six years, ultimately as manager, providing professional expertise to a wide variety of clients in the regional area. She joined Bock Pharmacal as controller, where over a span of five years she helps the company grow its annual sales from $50 million to over $100 million.
Community Commitment
Kim served for more than 10 years as a member of the finance committee and on the board of directors for the Employment Connection. This non-for-profit organization provides job-seeking assistance to people with impediments to employment, including ex-convicts, persons with disabilities and others. In addition, she has served as a member of the finance committee for Southside Day Nursery, a not-for-profit organization that provides support for underprivileged working parents and their children. She is active in her church and teaches Sunday School to youths.
Achievements
- Assisted in the development of a new company, including the creation of a Private Placement Memorandum, to capitalize on the strength and expertise of an existing sales force, resulting in a multi-million dollar company in a few short years.
- Completely re-designed the budgeting procedure of a multi-departmental organization, resulting in an improved ability to track and monitor the various service programs that serve our community.
- Developed a business model that enabled a non-profit organization to advance its $20 million community center expansion.
- Assisted in a benchmarking study for a major national non-profit organization, resulting in significant data and insights that will dramatically improve their service and effectiveness.
