Current Focus and Results

Kim joined Collaborative Strategies in 1997 and offers her clients a broad background of financial and strategic capabilities.  She provides valuable expertise for clients who need high-level accounting and financial proficiency but do not need a full-time employee – Fractional CFO services.  She assists clients with acquisition strategies and negotiation of deals, developing financing strategies, designing effective compensation plans, establishing or improving the budgeting process, developing financial models to analyze future purchases and perform “what-if” scenarios, forecasting, capital raising, installation of accounting systems, development of financial reporting packages for executives, re-design and management of accounting departments, and other accounting-related functions.

Kim’s other main focus is strategic planning.  She has been engaged in more than 60 strategic planning efforts in a variety of industries including construction, banking, manufacturing, non-for-profit, professional services and real estate.  In addition to strategic planning, Kim utilizes her financial background to help clients understand their current and future financial situation more thoroughly and assist them in using this information to improve their strategic plan for the future. 

Experience

Kim served clients of Arthur Andersen & Co. as a member of its audit department for six years, ultimately as manager, providing professional expertise to a wide variety of clients in the regional area.  She joined Bock Pharmacal as controller; where over a span of five years she helps the company grow its annual sales from $50 million to over $100 million.

Community Commitment

Kim volunteers for the Ronald McDonald House and has served for more than 10 years as a member of the finance committee and on the board of directors for the Employment Connection.  In addition, she has served as a member of the finance committee for Southside Day Nursery, a not-for-profit organization that provides support for disadvantaged working parents and their children.

Achievements

  • Developed an acquisition strategy and led the efforts in negotiating and finalizing two acquisitions, resulting in the client’s revenue growth of >15%.
  • Overhauled the financial reporting system for a multi-million dollar company, resulting in the ability to analyze the business in a variety of ways and allowing the executives to make strategic decisions regarding the growth of the company.
  • Completely re-designed the budgeting procedure of a multi-departmental organization, resulting in an improved ability to track and monitor the various service programs that serve our community.
  • Assisted in the development of a new company, including the creation of a Private Placement Memorandum, to capitalize on the strength and expertise of an existing sales force, resulting in a multi-million dollar company in a few short years.
