Current Focus and Results

Jim joined the firm in 2005.  His focus is on strategic planning and board facilitation, performance management, as well as quality and operations improvement.  Jim offers a depth of quality and operations management expertise to complement his experience in leading strategy development and implementation in both large and small companies.  He actively facilitates private company advisory boards to provide owners with confidential guidance for improving performance and growing their business.

Experience

Jim has served in roles as an internal consultant, a manager at all levels of a large organization and a partner in an entrepreneurial company. Jim attained the position of vice-president and head of the US region for MEMC Electronic Materials Company.  He was president of the MEMC/Texas Instruments joint venture.  He served as quality manager, operations manager, and plant manager for the St. Peters, MO site.  During his tenure the plant was recognized with the Missouri Quality Award and received Industry Week Magazine’s Best Plants award.  After leaving MEMC, Jim became an owner and partner in a local hardwood manufacturing company.  Jim is an adjunct professor at Lindenwood University where he teaches the MBA Capstone class on strategic management.  He also teaches “Building a Powerful Business Strategy” and “Value Creation through Advisory Boards” at Enterprise University for Enterprise Bank.

Community Commitment

Jim serves on the Advisory Board for Enterprise Bank in St. Charles County and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Boone Center, a facility based employment center for adults with disabilities.  Jim and his wife are also active volunteers and wish-granters for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Achievements

  • Helped a mid-size manufacturing company develop and implement a successful 5-year strategy to strengthen its position in core markets and expand their penetration into adjacent markets with a new approach to reach the end-user resulting in significant revenue growth and increased firm value.
  • Worked with a cleaning services company to focus their sales strategy, restructure their management team, and improve operational effectiveness resulting in improved profitability and significant revenue growth.   
  • Guided the planning process for a facility based employment center for adults with disabilities in developing an extended employment approach that is trend setting for the industry.
  • Facilitated the strategic planning process for a billion dollar industrial construction company, identifying a roadmap that aligned their multiple divisions and resulted in record setting revenue and profits.
