Current Focus and Results
Jason recently joined Collaborative Strategies after receiving an MBA from Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis. Jason helps firms in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors reach their goals through strategic planning, project management, and investment due diligence. Currently, Jason is advising a distribution firm on both organic and acquisition based growth strategies. Jason also provides operations management services to a start-up firm in the consumer packaged goods industry.
Experience
Before his current role at CSI, Jason served as an Associate with the Skandalaris Student Venture Fund, an Olin Business School affiliated venture fund. In this role, Jason lead a deal team to a $50,000 angel round investment in a medical device firm. Additionally, Jason worked with the Fund and other St. Louis area venture capital firms to source other investment opportunities, perform due diligence, and make investment recommendations. Before pursuing his MBA, Jason was a Corps Member with Teach for America, a national organization dedicated to ending the achievement gap in public education. Jason taught American History at a high school in the St. Louis Public Schools.
Community Commitment
Jason has pursued leadership roles in multiple St. Louis and national organizations. Currently, Jason serves as Vice-Chairman for Cultural Leadership, where he oversaw the implementation of a strategic plan geared towards financial stability and leadership succession. Additionally, Jason served from 2006 – 2010 as a Trustee for the Indiana University chapter of Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity. In that role, Jason restructured the organization’s balance sheet over the course of three years reducing the chapter’s outstanding debt.
Achievements
- Recommended a growth strategy for a distribution firm that is expected to triple revenue over five years.
- Led a due diligence team comprised of multiple investor groups in the due diligence activities for an investment in an early-stage medical device company.
- Created and implemented a strategy to ensure progress and accountability within management at a consumer device firm.
- Developed financial oversight processes for a non-profit to ensure accountability across board and management personnel.
