Current Focus and Results

Jim Del Carmen provides his clients a focus on both the people and organizational aspects of change.  He has been leading strategic planning efforts since 1997 across multiple industries, including professional services, real estate, distribution, financial services, manufacturing, education, and not-for-profit.  To complement strategy formulation, he has a proven track record in assisting clients with implementation plans that achieve profitable and sustainable growth.  He leverages expertise in process reengineering, organizational design, and project management for the realization of exceptional outcomes from planning endeavors.

Experience

Jim began his management consulting career with two of the Big Five firms, Andersen Consulting and Ernst & Young, serving in the change management and process improvement practices of each.  He gained invaluable experience in designing and implementing solutions on large-scale engagements for Fortune 500 companies.  Since 1999, he has conducted numerous workshops on such topics as strategic thinking, driving execution for results, and project management for member organizations of a regional management association.  Beginning in 2004, Jim became actively involved as an owner/principal in forming several real estate development partnerships.

Community Commitment

Jim currently serves on the Board of Directors for St. Patrick Center, the largest provider of homeless services in Missouri.  He has also provided his services to local educational institutions and several not-for-profit organizations, including Habitat for Humanity.

Achievements

  • Facilitated the strategic planning and ongoing plan management system to accelerate profitable growth by a mid-size professional services firm, resulting in 20 percent or better annual growth in succeeding years.
  • Mapped and executed the successful transition of key corporate functions between two Fortune 500 companies for increased productivity, reduced costs, and a more fully integrated culture.
  • Led the annual planning process for a not for profit organization’s Board of Directors, resulting in consistent achievement of annual performance goals toward the long term vision.
  • Addressed key performance issues resulting from rapid growth by mobilizing and realigning primary operating areas of a financial services organization, yielding higher efficiency, improved client service, and increased capacity.
  • Engaged and facilitated diverse, regional stakeholders in the formation of a shared economic development agenda, leading to mutual objectives and priorities, and an operating model jointly implemented by all parties.
