Current Focus and Results

Brian joined Collaborative Strategies in 2003 and has led strategic planning engagements for private businesses and not-for-profits all across the country.  Brian offers a broad base of industry experience in the privately-held, not-for-profit, and public sectors.  With over a decade’s experience in management consulting, Brian has honed his approach to empower clients to think boldly about their future while at the same time staying grounded in the realities of their current environment.  He has augmented his strategy background with successful implementation management of a number of major planning initiatives.

Experience

Brian has 16 years of consulting experience in helping organizations with planning and strategy.  Brian served as manager with Diamond Technology Partners, a Chicago-based consultancy now part of PwC.  He also held business development and market analysis positions with Sun Microsystems and Gartner Group, a leading provider of information technology advisory and research services.

Community Commitment

Brian is very active in the St. Louis community.  He serves as the Chairman of College Summit St. Louis, an organization dedicated to increasing college access for low-income youth.  College Summit has been recognized at the World Economic Forum for its social entrepreneurship.  He is a board member of The Belle Center, an organization that pioneered inclusive education for children with disabilities. Brian is a trustee of Loyola Academy, a Jesuit middle school for boys from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential for college preparatory work.   

Achievements

  • Planned and implemented a multi-million dollar smart card project for one of the largest public transit agencies in the United States.
  • Led strategic planning for several of St. Louis’ iconic cultural and artistic institutions.
  • Helped a third-generation construction business quantify the value of having a team of “A” players and then develop a professional development program to systematically improve performance.
  • Coached the owner of a small but fast-growing family-run distributor on how to implement systems that increased efficiency, clarified roles, and introduced transparency into the business.
  • Facilitated the re-engineering of the new product development process for a $1 billion bio-tech company.
  • Manages the national benchmarking initiative for a network of 40+ peer organizations to annually assess financial sustainability and program excellence.
