Current Focus and Results

Brian joined Collaborative Strategies in 2003 and has led strategic planning engagements for private businesses and not-for-profits all across the country. Brian offers a broad base of industry experience in the not-for-profit, privately-held, and public sectors. With over a decade’s experience in management consulting, Brian has honed his approach to empower clients to think boldly about their future while at the same time staying grounded in the realities of their current environment.  He has augmented his strategy background with successful implementation management of a number of major planning initiatives.

Experience

Brian has 15 years of consulting experience in helping organizations with marketing strategy and strategic planning.  Brian served as manager with Diamond Management & Technology Consultants, a Chicago-based consulting firm.  He also held business development and market analysis positions with Sun Microsystems and Gartner Group, a leading provider of information technology advisory and research services.

Community Commitment

Brian is very active in the St. Louis community.  He serves as the Chairman of College Summit St. Louis, an organization dedicated to increasing college access for low income youth.  College Summit has been recognized at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland for its social entrepreneurship.  He is a board member and Treasurer of The Belle Center, an organization that pioneered inclusive education for children with disabilities. Furthermore, Brian is a trustee of Loyola Academy, a Jesuit middle school for boys from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential for college preparatory work. 

Achievements

  • Led the financial and business modeling that enabled a non-profit organization to advance its $20 million community center expansion.
  • Planned and implemented a multi-million dollar smart card project for one of the largest public transit agencies in the United States.
  • Manages the national benchmarking program for a network of 30+ not-for-profits to annually assess financial sustainability and mission excellence.
  • Launched a successful public sector practice for a mid-size management consulting firm that generated $10 million in contracts in its first year.
