Current Focus and Results

Brian joined Collaborative Strategies in 2003 and has led strategic planning engagements for private businesses and not-for-profits all across the country. His work focuses on the effective blending of products and markets, with particular strengths in industry analysis, customer segmentation, and new product development. Brian offers a broad base of industry experience spanning financial services, information technology, energy, and professional services fields in the non-profit, privately-held, and public sectors. He has augmented his strategy background with successful implementation management of a number of major planning initiatives.

Experience

Brian has 12 years of consulting experience in helping organizations with marketing strategy and strategic planning. Brian served as manager with Diamond Management & Technology Consultants, a Chicago-based consulting firm. He also held business development and market analysis positions with Sun Microsystems and Gartner Group, a leading provider of information technology advisory and research services. Based in Stamford, Conn., he launched several new products at Gartner, managed the acquisition of an international competitor, and launched a new benchmarking service for clients in Asia.

Community Commitment

Brian's primary community interests are education and urban renewal in St. Louis. He serves on the board of trustees for Loyola Academy, a Jesuit middle school for boys from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential for college preparatory work. Brian also serves on the board of advisors for College Summit - Missouri. College Summit is dedicated to increasing college access to low income youth and has been recognized at a national level for its social entrepreneurship.

  • Led the financial and business modeling that enabled a non-profit organization to advance its $20 million community center expansion.
  • Planned and implemented a multi-million dollar smart card project for one of the largest public transit agencies in the United States.
  • Coached a thriving entrepreneurial professional services firm on achieving and keeping focus on its highest potential strategic priorities.
  • Launched a successful public sector practice for a mid-size management consulting firm that generated $10 million in contracts in its first year.
